why we use water/aqua
The Basics
Aqua. It is water. H2O. There is misconception that water is a filler in skincare, but this is simply not true. Water is one of the most important elements of our skincare. Foremost, it's a solvent. The active ingredients we love so much are often in powder (or anhydrous) form. They need to be put into solution (dissolved in water or another solvent) to effectively permeate our skin at the proper dosage level.
Secondly, water = hydration. A hydrated complexion looks and feels more plump, healthy, and youthful. Hydrated skin effectively combat all types of skin concerns, from fine lines to visible acne spots and more, by helping our skin barrier function at its best.
