Ananas Sativus (Pineapple) Fruit Extract

Pineapple has antioxidant, skin soothing and exfoliating properties from its vitamin C content, the anti-inflammatory enzyme bromelain, and naturally-occurring glycolic acid.

Pineapple is a good source of magnesium, phosphorus and potassium. It also contains trace levels of Zinc and Sodium. Pineapple not only contains the softening, calming enzyme bromelain, but also salicylates. Salicylates work both on the skin’s surface and deep in the pores, meaning they offer unparalleled skill at unclogging pores. As a result, it’s a great option for acne or congestion-prone skin.

Pineapples are also rich in the alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) glycolic acid. AHAs and BHA work to gently break apart bonds on the skin’s surface to slough off dead cells. Through this process they can boost the production of collagen to help skin stay smooth and bouncy.
