Punicic Acid

Home / Ingredient Glossary / Punicic Acid

Punicic acid is a remarkable anti-inflammatory conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) that is prized for its therapeutic abilities. Found in pomegranate oil, punicic acid can help calm skin ailments such as eczema, psoriasis, and acne. While its skin calming abilities are amazing, it is most famous for its efficacy as a skin cancer chemopreventive. Topical application of punicic-rich pomegranate oil has been shown to slow the development of cancerous skin cells.1
